Sara Barbieri

Sara was born on January 4th 1980 in Zagreb. In elementary school she simultaneously attended The School of Classical Ballet in Zagreb and as a part of the syllabus performed in the ballets of the Croatian National Theatre. Later on Sara took up contemporary dance and danced in almost all Zagreb studios where she learned from the recognized young pedagogues and dancers such as Zrinka Lukčec, Selma Banich, Silvija Marching, Iva Visak and many others. She attended numerous dance workshops here and in France.

She danced and performed in the plays of the Gavella Theatre (Latinovitz; How a Show is Created; Artej), the acting troupe 'Histrioni' (Fritz & the Singer), as well as the Musical Biennale of 2005 (the world premiere of the modern opera 'Diotime and Eurydice' by the Italian composer Nicola Sani).



She is a member of The Zagreb Dance Company with which she has been practicing daily since 2004 in ZekaeM (the Zagreb Youth Theatre) and she dances in the show 'Pasijans' (Solitaire) by the Slovenian choreographer Iztok Kovač which was made in co production with The Zagreb Dance Company and the Slovenian En-knap (ZeKaeM Cankarjev Dom).
In 2006 she dances in the show 'Modulacija-oblik 2' (Modulation-form 2) by the choreographer Marija Šćekić and in 2007 in the show by the choreographer Snježana Abramović Milković 'Ogoljeno/Stripped'.
Sara is a student of Polytical Science. She enriches her dancing experience by the Pilates technique and she creates imaginative training classes mixing Pilates and numerous dancing techniques.
